This one was so much more fun that the last ultrasound. Melissa came, and it was a joy to have her there as well. The reason it was so much more fun: last time it sat like a bump on a log, this time the little thing was bouncing around like crazy! It was kicking and the cutest was it had its fingers in its mouth most of the time. The tech told us that it is not often she sees a fetus sucking its fingers at this early stage, and hopefully for us it means it'll be a good baby as it is already learning to pacify itself. It even kinda waved (OK, i know not on purpose) and it was cool to be able to see all five fingers spread apart. Also, it go the hiccups during toward the end and that was cool to see too.
Sorry this isn't so clear... on the screen it was much more defined. The tech pointed out the black spot on its stomach and said that now the baby is swallowing amniotic fluids. Then a second later it took a huge gulp and we could see it swallow! It was exciting. Still 7 more weeks before we know what "it" is. But we are way excited because the office will give us a DVD of the whole ultrasound... perhaps that means I can figure out how to post it here for everyone to see! I was checking out the different wives tales on if its a boy or a girl... and i came across a study that found that a woman's premonition of the baby's sex is 71% of the time true... so we'll see if I'm right or not when i say i think its a boy.
